Preston Weekly Meditation Classes

These weekly meditation classes in Preston are open to anyone, no experience is needed. Chairs are provided, and there’s no need to wear special clothing.

They feature a guided meditation, a teaching on Modern Buddhism, and a second meditation. There is an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the class.

The teachings and guided meditations are designed to help in dealing with the difficulties and problems of everyday life.

At Vajravarahi Kadampa Meditation Centre, 38 West Cliff, Preston, PR1 8HU.

There is some on-street parking, but it is limited so please give yourself plenty of time if you are driving. There is a car park on Christian Road, which is parallel to West Cliff.

Thursday mornings at 10.30am-12noon (£5)

Janette is currently study ‘Universial Compassion’ on the Foundation Program at the Centre.

Saturday mornings at 10.30am-12noon (£5)

Advanced Study Program – Tuesday nights & Wednesday Mornings

If you would like to take your study and experience of meditation and Buddhism further, then consider joining the Foundation Program. Classes consist of prayers, a guided meditation, a teaching and a paired discussion. Periodically there is a group discussion.

The Centre currently runs 2 separate FPs – one on a Tuesday night studying ‘Joyful Path Of Good Fortune’ and one on a Wednesday morning studying ‘Universal Compassion’. A student would be on one of these courses, not both.

Advanced Study Program – Heart Jewel Class, 

Fridays 7.30pm-9pm (£5)

No class on 24th & 31st May.

An explanation of the ‘Heart Jewel Practice’. With Gen Pagpa. Open to anyone.

 

If we train in meditation, our mind will gradually become more and more peaceful, and we shall experience a purer and purer form of happiness. Eventually we shall be able to stay happy all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances.
