The Healing Power of Meditation

We all know it is important to have a healthy body, but how much more important is it to have a healthy mind? Buddha said that all our problems and suffering, and all our happiness and good fortune, come from the mind. By using meditation and new ways of thinking, we can improve our experience of inner peace and happiness, so helping to heal our mind, our life, and the people around us.

‘Meditation is a scientific method to transform human nature from bad to good. Everybody needs to be good-natured with a good heart’ – Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

This Sunday morning course is suitable for people new to meditation and those with some experience.

Chairs and cushions are provided in the meditation room.

The course is led by Gillian Yorke. Gillian is on the Teacher Training Program in Preston, and has taught for many years in the Wigan area. She understands the importance of keeping a happy, peaceful mind in everyday life and can lead meditations in a calm yet profound manner.

Love Is The Answer

Everybody wants to be happy. If we develop positive, loving minds towards the people in our life, we will experience peace and happiness and make those we meet feel special and loved.

This day retreat explains how we can develop such loving-kindness and features guided meditations to bring out the loving minds that we all naturally have.

Chairs and cushions are provided in the meditation room.

Everyone is welcome, no experience is needed.

The course is led by Gen Pagpa, an English Buddhist Monk who has over 20 years experience in studying Buddhism and has guided many retreats at Buddhist Centres around the country.

A vegetarian/vegan lunch is included.
